Social Media Manager
We’re on the hunt for a Social Media Manager to join our Melbourne-based team.
Working closely with our Head of Social Media, Accounts and General Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of client accounts. We’re looking for someone with a passion for what we do, who is ready to jump into a an exciting role, working across a portfolio of global brands.
This role is ideal for somebody who has 2-3 years experience in social media marketing, (agency experience is highly preferred) and who wants to develop a leadership career in the social media industry. The perfect candidate will have excellent customer service skills, will be highly organised, have an eye for detail, and will be bursting with ideas and initiative. It’s important to us that you’re the type of person who can pick up the phone and build strong relationships with your clients.
This is a full time position, with a hybrid working model, with 2 days per week worked from home, and 3 days per week worked from our Hardware Lane studio. That being said, we are also open to part time candidates if it’s the right fit.

Position Description:
Your key responsibilities will include:
Strategy & Onboarding
- Attend client strategy meetings on behalf of Melbourne Social Co as required, and assist in the preparation of social media strategies
- Assist the Head of Accounts in onboarding new clients
Account Management
- Working closely with clients and other stakeholders as a key agency point of contact
- Assist with project managing creative campaigns from concept through to completion
- Meeting and assisting clients with their account needs
- Brief creatives, copywriters and designers to create campaign assets for social media, EDMs and websites
- Proactively find and utilise social media and marketing trends to use for client campaigns when relevant
- Preparing weekly and monthly reports and attending regular client WIP meetings
Influencer / UGC Creator Campaign Coordination
- Strategise and pitch exciting and engaging influencer campaigns for new and existing clients
- Facilitate the end to end execution of influencer campaigns for clients
- Ensure projects run on time and on budget, managing budgeting and invoicing coordination with our finance team
- Assess and report on the success of campaigns
- Identify new opportunities for growth across new and existing clients
Content Creation & Distribution
- Prepare social media content plans
- Assist with managing and facilitating photoshoots on behalf of MSC clients, including photography & post-production, art direction, styling, shoot preparation, prop sourcing and client liaison
- Plan and produce native content for TikTok and Instagram Reels on your iPhone, including acting as talent within content where required
- Schedule content on Sprout Social and Meta Business Suite
Community Management
- Act as a customer service representative for selected clients on social media, fulfilling their retainer community management tasks
Must Haves:
- The ability to lead and manage a team is a positive, supportive manner
- Highly organised, with an ability to meet strict deadlines
- Able to take direction but work autonomously, with excellent time management skills
- Ability to multi-task and juggle multiple projects at once
- Ability to edit and proof-read your work and the work of others
- Confident with technology (our most-used platforms are Slack, Sprout, Canva and Meta Business Suite)
- Ability to think outside the square, with great creative skills
- A strong understanding of Meta paid advertising
- Confident customer service skills
