About the role
Melbourne Social Co / ATTN.CTRL is looking for a creative, reliable and highly organised freelance Content Creator based in London.
The role will be evenly split between shooting and editing social-first content for Instagram, TikTok and other digital platforms. You’ll work across a range of clients and industries, capturing high-quality content on location and transforming raw footage into engaging, polished edits.
You’ll understand how to create content specifically for social media and have a strong eye for framing, pacing, hooks, storytelling, trends, audio, text overlays and the small details that help content stand out.
We anticipate approximately 10–15 hours of freelance work per week, although hours may vary depending on shoot schedules and client requirements. Flexibility to attend shoots across London is essential.
Key responsibilities
Content creation and shooting – approximately 50%
- Attend and capture social-first content at client shoots across London.
- Film high-quality video content for Instagram Reels, TikTok and other social platforms.
- Work from approved creative concepts, shot lists, briefs and run sheets.
- Help ensure footage is captured with the intended edit, platform and creative direction in mind.
- Provide creative input and identify additional content opportunities while on set.
- Work confidently with clients, talent and other creative partners during shoots
- Represent Melbourne Social Co / ATTN CTRL professionally when working directly with clients.
Social-first video editing – approximately 50%
- Edit short-form video content for Instagram Reels, TikTok and other social platforms.
- Turn raw footage into engaging, polished and platform-native content.
- Apply strong social storytelling principles, including hooks, pacing, transitions, captions, text overlays, music and audio.
- Create multiple edits and variations from existing footage to maximise content output.
- Adapt content to suit different clients, audiences, brand guidelines and platform requirements.
- Stay across emerging editing styles, social trends and content formats.
- Incorporate internal and client feedback accurately and efficiently.
- Complete final quality-control checks before content is delivered.
- Organise project files, footage, exports and version history clearly.
About you
- You have a minimum of two years’ professional experience creating and editing social-first content.
- You are based in London and can travel to shoots across the city.
- You can demonstrate a portfolio of engaging, attention-grabbing content.
- You have strong editing skills in CapCut.
- You understand how to shoot and edit video that captures attention quickly.
- You have a strong eye for composition, lighting, movement and visual storytelling.
- You have excellent attention to detail and can maintain quality while working efficiently.
- You are organised and comfortable managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- You communicate clearly and can work effectively with an Australia-based team.
- You respond well to feedback and can apply changes accurately.
- You are collaborative, proactive and comfortable working independently.
- You understand that different brands require different creative styles and approaches.
