Personal Brand Content Lead

Freelance / Part-Time
Melbourne-based (on-site shooting required)

About the Role

We’re looking for a Personal Brand Content Lead to build and execute founder-led content across Melbourne Social Co.

Working closely with the Founder, you’ll create high-impact content across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and emerging platforms — capturing the day-to-day of building and scaling a premium, global-facing social media agency.

This role sits at the intersection of strategy, content creation, and cultural relevance — turning real moments into content that drives attention, authority, and growth.

You won’t be sitting behind a desk waiting for briefs. You’ll be in the room, on the ground, and actively shaping the content.

Why This Role Exists

We are actively building out a personal branding arm of the agency, designed to support founders and leaders in showing up online with clarity, consistency, and impact.

This role will play a key part in bringing that offering to life — starting internally and expanding into client work.

You’ll help:

  • Build a founder-led content engine within the agency
  • Turn day-to-day business moments into strategic content
  • Contribute to a scalable, repeatable model for personal brand content

Key Responsibilities

1. Founder Content Creation

  • Capture content in real-time (on-site shoots, meetings, events)
  • Film and direct lo-fi, social-first video content
  • Identify strong content moments proactively (not reactively)
  • Create high-volume, high-quality short-form video content

2. Content Strategy & Ideation

  • Develop weekly content plans aligned to key business priorities
  • Translate business insights into compelling, shareable content
  • Build recurring content formats and series
  • Stay ahead of platform trends and adapt them intelligently

3. Editing & Distribution

  • Edit short-form video (TikTok, Reels, LinkedIn)
  • Write captions with strong hooks and clear POV
  • Schedule and publish content across platforms
  • Optimise for performance (retention, saves, shares)

4. Build-in-Public Storytelling

  • Capture behind-the-scenes moments, decision-making, and key milestones
  • Shape a narrative that builds authority and connection over time
  • Balance polish with authenticity (lo-fi that feels considered, not lazy)

5. Personal Brand Offering (Agency)

  • Support the rollout of our personal branding service for clients
  • Assist in content creation for founders as the offering grows
  • Contribute to building systems, playbooks, and processes

About You

You’re not just a content creator — you’re a content thinker.

  • Strong understanding of what performs on LinkedIn, TikTok, and Instagram
  • Confident filming in real-life, fast-paced environments
  • Highly proactive — you see content before it happens
  • Strong instincts for hooks, storytelling, and pacing
  • Comfortable working closely with senior leaders and giving direction
  • Fast, efficient editor (lo-fi, social-first content)
  • Deeply tapped into culture, trends, and internet behaviour

Bonus:

  • Existing network in the Melbourne marketing / creative scene
  • Experience building personal brands or founder content
  • Experience working in an agency or startup environment

What Success Looks Like

  • Consistent, high-quality content output (multiple posts per week)
  • Strong engagement signals (saves, shares, comments — not just views)
  • Clear growth in reach, authority, and audience connection
  • A repeatable system for founder-led content creation
  • Contribution to a scalable personal brand offering within the agency

Working Structure

  • Approximately 2 days per week (flexible, aligned to filming moments)
  • Mix of on-site (Melbourne) and remote editing/planning
  • Opportunity to support key events and shoots

Why Join Melbourne Social Co

  • Work directly with senior leaders in a high-growth agency
  • Be part of building a new, high-demand service offering
  • High ownership, high creative freedom
  • Real impact on brand, growth, and direction
